Thank you to Fr. Stamp from St. Anne's R.C. Parish in Accrington who celebrated Mass in our school hall on Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of Lent.

Our school choir sang 'Colours of Day', 'Make me a Channel of your Peace', 'As I kneel before you' and 'You raise me up' throughout the Mass and pupils read bidding prayers.

During the time of Lent we are reminded this is a time to fast, to pray and to give something up. Our Headteacher Mr Bowers spoke of how Lent is an ideal time to remember to be nice and do something good for other people.

'Lent comes providentially to reawaken us, to shake us from our lethargy.' Pope Francis
