As a literacy focussed school Mount Carmel are asking pupils from Years 7, 8 and 9 to take part in a sponsored event over the next three weeks. Pupils are being encouraged to be sponsored for every book they read and will be given a sponsorship card during their library lessons this week.

All money raised from this 'Read for Good' initiative will benefit children's hospitals such as Alder Hey and Manchester Children's Hospital by providing them with books for sick children to read and for people to go into hospitals to read to the children. A percentage of the sponsorship money raised will be donated to our own school library too.

Please sponsor your child for each book they read until 13th March, they will read a minimum of one book in that time and we ask for a minimum donation of £1 per book. Some pupils will read more books and some parents and family members may wish to sponsor for a greater amount per book. That choice is yours, we welcome any amount to help this appeal.

Thank you for your support.
