Mount Carmel are involved in the Youth Sport Trust ‘Active in Mind’ project.

Paul Broadbent former captain of Sheffield Rugby League Club for over 4 years spent a day in school working with 17 pupils from Years 9, 10 and 11.

The ‘Active in Mind’ project is a project to help build confidence and manage physical & emotional wellbeing. It aims to help young people achieve their potential both in school and in life through physical activity and life skills.

Ms Gallagher organised the project in school and commented “We are really fortunate to have Paul working with our pupils and the skills they develop through the project will not only help them but also help them be mental health champions for other pupils in the school.”

Paul has also coached rugby in Italy and played for the Great Britain Rugby team, winning the Cup Final at Wembley.
