Mount Carmel had the privilege of welcoming Judith Hayman, who spoke to Year 9, 10, and 11 pupils about her family’s remarkable escape from Nazi-occupied Austria. Judith shared her family's harrowing experiences and the challenges they faced during one of history’s darkest periods.

Her storytelling captivated the audience, providing a personal and powerful insight into the impact of the Holocaust. Pupils listened attentively throughout, demonstrating excellent behaviour and engagement. The visit was a valuable opportunity for pupils to deepen their understanding of history and reflect on the importance of tolerance and resilience.

Judith’s visit left a lasting impression, and we are grateful for her time and willingness to share such a poignant and personal story.
