Year 7 pupils went on a joint science and English educational visit to Blackpool Zoo.
They spent a busy day undertaking the following activities;
- Research done about habitats and conservation for building a habitat project that will be done in science classes and a prize will be given for the best project.
- Informative writing English task to help them with their assessment in class.
- Educational talk delivered by zoo keepers on habitats/conservation and artefacts passed round snake skin, shark jaw, elephant dung, penguin feathers, turtle shell, reindeer antler.
- Bird show- intelligence of birds, endangered species, how health checks are done, adaptations of beaks.
- Sea lion show - how they survive in the wild, predators and how they avoid them, health checks how they are done and plastic in the oceans how this is a danger.
