Excited for English Quiz

The Excited for English inter-primary quiz took place hosted by Mount Carmel English department.

Ten teams of 4 pupils from six schools competed with approx 70 family and primary staff coming along to support them. The quiz consisted of a round of questions based on an extract from the book 'The Witches' from Roald Dahl using tablet devices. The teams then took part in a treasure hunt in the library alongside a conundrum puzzle. The final deciding round was a spelling bee challenge with one pupil representing each team on the stage.

Mount Carmel pupils assisted and were great ambassadors for the school during the course of the evening and Mount Carmel PTFA served refreshments to the visitors. An online parents quiz and a raffle also took place.

The Excited for English winners for 2023 were St. Mary's Oswaldtwistle primary and they were presented with the prestigious trophy, certificates, Easter eggs and badges.

Hippings came in second place and St. Nicholas came in third place.

Thank you to all the teams who participated, they all received Mount Carmel English Superstar certificates and a chocolate bar.
