Mount Carmel Performing Arts department took 31 pupils across all year groups on a residential trip to London. For some it was their third trip and for others their first. They left school at 7am on a coach and arrived at the National Theatre around lunchtime for a Backstage tour where they got to see and sit in all of the three theatres there as well as seeing where all props, set, scenery and costumes are made.
They then then did a sightseeing tour visiting all the famous landmarks and, after a run around Trafalgar square and lots of photos they went to Pizza Express for Dinner. The pupils and staff then made their way to Theatreland to see 'Back to the Future' before returning to Chessington World of Adventure where they were staying.
After breakfast the following day they went to Danceworks, a dance studio where they participated in a song and dance workshop learning one of the songs and choreography that we had seen in the show the night before. This was delivered by an actual cast member and there was an opportunity for a Q and A session afterwards.
