We are very excited to launch a brand new challenge based award scheme for all Mount Carmel pupils.
The Carmelite Award Scheme is a challenge based initiative developed to inspire and build confidence. Mount Carmel pupils from all year groups can choose to be involved and the scheme will progress through stages to help pupils develop both spiritually and morally.
The award runs from the start of October until the end of May for all pupils in years 7 to 10 as October 1st is the Feast Day of St Therese of Lisieux, a Carmelite nun and inspiration for the Carmelite Awards.
Pupils are given a Carmelite passport which is the evidence needed to achieve each stage of the award. Each award consists of four categories; Prayer, Community, Service and Reliability and achievements for each category are recorded in their passport and verified by a member of staff.
There is a different award for each year group. The year 7 award is bronze, year 8 is silver, year 9 is gold and the year 10 award is platinum. The challenges are slightly different for each year group. If challenges are completed from awards higher than the one assigned to a pupil's year group then that will be awarded accordingly.
Awards will be presented to pupils who complete all the sections of the challenge scheme in the Summer term.
When a pupil completes the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum awards they will be recognised as an outstanding Mount Carmel pupil and be awarded the overall. prestigious Carmelite Award.
