Mount Carmel Year 10 pupils completed a week of Work Experience in July. They learned a great deal of useful employability skills and gained an understanding about the world of work.

All students were an absolute credit to the school, and we received amazing feedback about them from employers. A selection of the comments can be seen below.

  • "Matilda was like having an extra member of staff - she went above and beyond every day, including staying late and arriving early. She was better than some University placements we've had!"

  • "Leon received positive comments from all our staff, he is the best work experience student we have had in a while"

  • "Nicole was delightful - friendly, confident and great with the children. She is a credit to the school and I'm sure will do you proud during her tenure."

  • "We would take Toby on tomorrow if he were available. Can we keep him another week?"

  • "Saskia was placed in quite a difficult class and coped really well. She is polite, friendly, and just cracks on. An absolute delight and a credit to you."

  • "Kade fit in like a glove, we would be happy to offer him an apprenticeship if he wanted one."

  • "Dylan really impressed with his attitude and professionalism. A real asset."

  • "Isaac is a quick learner who showed a lot of initiative. We wouldn't hesitate to employ him."

Raising Aspirations Coordinator Mr Barratt and Year 10 Pastoral staff Mr Cottam and Miss Taylor are all incredibly proud of how the students represented us, well done Year 10!
