Last year, to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II, we received 2 racing pigeons from the Royal Loft in Sandringham. This was a scheme in association with the Royal Pigeon Racing Association (RPRA) to promote the sport and keeping of racing pigeons in schools. The scheme has been so successful that HM King Charles III has donated a further 2 pigeons from the Royal Lofts to commemorate his Coronation and Mr Blair collected these last week and they have settled in really well in our lofts in MC.
Mr Blair said "The pupils have been thrilled to receive two further racing pigeons from the Royal Lofts and there has been great excitement to view these birds in our aviary during break and lunchtimes. In due course, we hope to produce our own chicks from these royal birds"
Staff and students are busy thinking of suitable names for these birds.
