Mount Carmel Year 10 Geography pupils visited Salford Quays, Manchester as part of their GCSE course.
They were investigating the successful recent regeneration of the area of Salford, in particular Media City where the BBC, ITV (in particular Coronation Street) have studios and offices.
The pupils saw how the regeneration of the area has increased opportunities for people. They did this by creating a land-use map and conducting pedestrian and traffic counts as well as an environmental quality survey. This is a study that prepares them for one of their Geography exams at the end of Year 11 where they will be expected to explain their findings.
The weather was incredibly kind and the pupils were fantastic ambassadors for Mount Carmel.
