Mount Carmel Year 10 pupil and newly appointed Head Boy for 2023-24 Jayden French recently won the 'Young Voice' CHARM award at the Civic Theatre, Oswaldtwistle. The event is organised by Ynot Aspire Ltd. and the Young Voice Award is sponsored by Stepping Stones Project.

CHARM is an annual awards event and talent show, showcasing young people from our local high schools.

Miss Taylor and Mr Cottam who are Year 10 Pastoral leaders nominated Jayden to win the award because he is the very definition of ‘role model’.

They commented "For the past 4 years, Jayden has committed himself 100% to the Mount Carmel school community and taken on many different roles and endeavours. Every day he arrives at school with a smile on his face and offering his help with anything and everything.
He has been form captain, helping raise money for charity and no job has been too big or too small for Jayden. Jayden is an active participant on the student council and is committed to helping the school whilst also taking on work for charity and being a member of the Police cadets. He even recently received his sergeant stripes! He offers to help at school events in the evenings, he shows kindness to others, he volunteers as as a mental health representative in school and he is very caring at home too.
Jayden genuinely cares about people, his school and his friends and he aims to get the most out of every situation he faces. He is a wonderful, genuine and admirable human being who thoroughly deserves this award
."

Well done Jayden from all at M.C.
