Three of Mount Carmel's Chaplaincy team went to St. Mary's Primary school in Clayton-le-Moors along with 10 other schools for a Lenten workshop with a theme of 'How can we make the World a Better Place?".
The afternoon started with a welcome from Headteacher Mr Mashiter followed by a prayer meditation led by Mrs Hinds who then explained the CAFOD World Gifts scheme to help fund essential resources such as water, food, healthcare, schooling etc.
Each school was asked to design a piece of a large jigsaw based on these World Gift categories and all the pieces by the end of the workshop together made a wonderful large, colourful cross.
There was also a bidding prayer challenge for each school, which was read out in a liturgy at the end of the afternoon.
A representative from the KSC then passed out Lent themed quiz sheets to the teams of pupils, presenting the winning team with a prize.
