To celebrate World Book Day and National ‘unplugged’ Day, Mount Carmel are asking pupils to switch off their computers and mobile phones and fire up their imagination and creativity instead on Thursday 4th March.

We challenge them to become authors and publishers for the day and to use their imagination to create a short story.

One of these titles may be used to help inspire them or they can choose one of their own:

  • The case of the missing pupil
  • The Spot
  • A day in the life of a pen

A storyboard, front cover design and poster to advertise the story is also required.

Full details of the challenge will be posted on Show my Homework and they will be asked to submit their work to their English teacher on their first lesson back in school week beginning Monday 8th March.

All work should be completed on paper. No computers or word processing to be used.

Prizes will be awarded for the best story, front cover, storyboard, advert.
