We said a fond farewell to Senior Assistant Headteacher Lynne Carruthers who has worked at Mount Carmel for 7 years. Before that she worked as a consultant for Mount Carmel and has a total of 34 years in the teaching profession.

As staff and governors gathered to present Lynne with leaving gifts Headteacher Xavier Bowers commented on how she will leave Mount Carmel a better place due to her dedication, hard work and good practice. He said it had been a joy to see the care Lynne had for her work colleagues, the pupils and for her work. He thanked her for all her hard work and wished her a happy retirement and good wishes for the future.

Lynne reflected on some of her career highlights and how the teaching profession is so different in many ways now than it was when she first started. Lynne recalled how she taught Travel & Tourism, Health & Social Care and Science at Mount Carmel and told some amusing tales from school trips. She said she had enjoyed her time at Mount Carmel immensely and will miss the sincerity and trust of the Mount Carmel family. She truely appreciates the dedication, trust and humour the staff have shown here.
