Chaplaincy pupil representatives from primary schools St. Anne's & St. Joseph's, St. Oswald's, Sacred Heart, St. Mary's Clayton-le-Moors and St. Mary's Oswaldtwistle, along with Mount Carmel High School pupils, who are all part of the Hyndburn Catholic Partnership, came together for a special Chaplaincy Day to explore the theme of the Jubilee 2025: We Are Pilgrims of Hope.
The day was filled with fun activities, reflection, and plenty of opportunities for the children to think about what hope means and how it fits with our mission as a school community.
The pupils took part in various games that not only got them moving but also helped them reflect on hope, kindness, and working together. These activities helped the children think about how hope guides us and how it’s a part of everything we do, both in school and beyond.
Alongside the games, the pupils spent time reflecting on the true meaning of hope and how it aligns with their lives and their faith. They thought about how, as pilgrims on a journey, they can carry hope with them, trusting that God’s love is always there to guide them.
The day ended with a beautiful Celebration of the Word, which the pupils planned and delivered themselves. This was a powerful moment for everyone involved, as the children shared their thoughts, prayers, and hopes for the future in a service full of joy and unity.
A huge thank you to all the staff from the schools and to Mr Davies, Miss Bowers and Mrs Fielding for their hard work in organising and delivering such a wonderful day. It was truly a lovely and memorable experience, reminding us all that, as pilgrims of hope, we’re walking this journey together, with faith, love, and hope lighting our way.
