Mount Carmel pupils brought The Lion King to life in a spectacular production that left the audience in awe. From the opening notes of “Circle of Life” to the final curtain call, the performance was a dazzling display of talent, teamwork, and creativity.

The cast, made up entirely of pupils, delivered powerful performances that captured the Lion King story perfectly. The cast had attended rehearsals for the show at lunchtime and after school for many months and it truly paid off, earning thunderous applause and glowing praise from a sell out audience.

Every role was portrayed with great skill and enthusiasm from the commanding presence of Scar, the mischievous charm of Timon and Pumbaa, both the young cub and grown up Simba to the cheeky hyenas. All pupils put their heart and soul into their role.

Two performances were also made in front of local primary school pupils prior to the public performance.

Behind the scenes, a dedicated team of staff worked tirelessly to make this production a reality. From lighting, sound, choreography, costume design, make-up, backstage crew, promotion and front of house their support was instrumental in creating a professional and unforgettable experience for all.

Headteacher Mr Bowers thanked all the staff who helped bring the show to life especially Miss Bell and Miss Javaid. He also congratulated our incredible pupils for their outstanding performances. This production he said was more than just a show—it was a celebration of our school’s spirit, talent, and community.
