Mount Carmel welcomed Lorraine Leonard and John Griffin from the Diocese of Salford for a listening activity with a group of young people at our school.
They asked pupils for their views on the role of the Church and Faith in their lives, their hopes for the future and how the Church can better appeal to the youth of our Diocese.
Pupils from years 8, 9 and 10, representing our wide range of Catholic observance, gave their views maturely and candidly. Their views will anonymously go towards a report to Bishop John, who will in turn include them in the Diocesan Synod and personally hand them to Pope Francis at the Vatican.
Well done to all involved. Let’s continue to pray for the future of the Church and for the Holy Father.
