Fifty Mount Carmel pupils accompanied by five members of staff went on a thought provoking, emotional and educational four day trip to Krakow, Poland at the beginning of half term.
Visits were made to Auschwitz Concentration Camp, Wieliczka Salt Mine and Schindler’s Factory Museum. They also visited Wawel Royal Castle, Krakow's Jewish Quarter and had a ghost tour of the city!
Miss Taylor, Assistant Pastoral Leader for Year 10 who organised the trip said “The pupils were shocked to hear the history of the area. It is a very humbling, moving place and our pupils showed the greatest respect to the memory of all those lives lost. They also had some leisure time in Krakow where they could experience the culture of the country.”
