Mount Carmel welcomed a special visitor who came to speak to our pupils in a series of important assemblies.

PC Dave Render delivered the assemblies entitled “Choose Life, not the Knife” to all pupils in Years 7-10 and looked at the law behind it, the reasons why people carry knives, and the effects it can have on people and their families which was supported by the case study of "Sarmad Al-Saidi" who was sadly stabbed for a £25 debt. The sessions were very well received by pupils who said it gave them a lot to think about.

PC Dave is familiar to our Mount Carmel family, given that he was a former Mount Carmel pupil. He has also been a former school liaison officer and has been recently recognised for long standing outstanding work in the police.
