Mount Carmel library organised two trips for pupils towards the end of the summer term.
Pupils and staff went on the train to UCLAN in Preston for the Lancashire Book of the Year 2026 awards and attended a Q&A session given by 4 of the authors from the book selection that we were judging as a shadow school. The winner was announced as Ravena Guron author of Mondays are Murder and This Book Kills. We then got to meet the authors and get copies of their books signed.
Then, the annual rewards trip for our top 12 pupil millionaire readers trip went to Waterstones in Blackburn where they all received a £10 book voucher to spend on books and then went to McDonalds for lunch. It was a great day out and pupils loved selecting books.
