160 Year 7 pupils went on a trip to Blackpool Zoo recently and on their return they were asked to chose an animal and study the enclosure/habitat of that animal.
The Year 7 science classes then created a 'Zoo enclosure' over a series of lessons to replicate their animal and chosen enclosure with the rectangle at the bottom of the pyramid having to contain information about their animal and its habitat.
Each class teacher chose the 5 best enclosures to enter the final of the competition. 30 pupils were entered into the competition and were awarded a certificate and badge.
During the judging by Mr Bowers the pupils had to explain why their habitat is suited to their animal and how their enclosure has been designed to replicate the natural habitat. The overall winner was Charlotte J. who was awarded a certificate, badge, book, Lego, stationery set and a wooden hand-carved lion pen.
Well done Charlotte.
