Mount Carmel welcomed Tom Heaton from 'Let’s Go Zero' campaign who met with groups of staff and pupils to discuss possible and existing Eco projects and funding.
Tom is a passionate advocate for sustainability in education, and his visit was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our commitment to becoming a greener, more eco-conscious school which will open up great opportunities for funding and learning resources which will assist greatly our goal to become a carbon neutral school.
Our 3 Key Eco Priorities are:
- Reduce our carbon footprint and work towards becoming carbon neutral by 2030.
- Improve littering and promote better recycling practices across the school.
- Be more eco-aware in all aspects of school life and make the most of our green outdoor spaces.
Mount Carmel Eco co-ordinator Mr Blair, the pupil Eco team and the school site team continue to work towards our carbon neutral goal.
