Mount Carmel’s annual school sports day took place with a programme of activities specifically aimed to enable all pupils to participate. The day was a great success and was enjoyed by all.

There were a range of fun activities such as sack races, wheelbarrow races, welly throwing, three legged races and tug of war alongside more ‘formal’ track and field events such as track races, javelin, shot put, long jump, triple jump and discus. Staff also took part in activities including tug of war, track races and sack races. Each form group represented a country from the Euros and made decorations, banners and flags.

Ice creams and lollies were served on the yard during break and lunchtime and Year 11 pupil Ruby P. was DJ for the day.

Headteacher Mr Bowers thanked all pupils for being such good sports and really getting involved in the day. He commented "The whole school is involved and it is an enjoyable day for both pupils and staff. Many thanks to Mrs Driffill our P.E. Curriculum Leader and the P.E. department for their hard work and organisation and for all the staff involved in the running of the day."

Medals and trophies were presented by Mr Bowers to individuals throughout the day as well as Year form group winners.

The winning forms were;
