Pupils across the school took part in events to mark and celebrate the Solemnity of the Epiphany. Epiphany marks the Adoration of the Magi.
The Wise Men from the East reveal Christ to the world and present the gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. This revelation shows that salvation is available to everyone - Jesus is a gift for all people, irrespective of race, colour, gender or social status. Epiphany is a Holy Day and all pupils took part in special liturgies during form time. Year 7 had an assembly with Mr. Davies (Curriculum Leader of RE) and Fr. Francis joined us to celebrate Holy Mass with our Chaplaincy Representatives.
Fr. Francis spoke about the late Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, whose funeral took place yesterday, and reminded us of the need to grow in our faith and share it gladly with others. Happy Feast!
