Mount Carmel High School hosted a Community Christmas Party in the school with 45 guests attending. Parishoners from local Catholic Parish Churches of St. Mary’s Oswaldtwistle, St. Mary’s, Clayton-le-Moors, St. Joseph’s and St. Anne’s, local residents and staff family members were amongst the guests.
A delicious festive meal was prepared and served by catering staff at Mount Carmel and pupils from the school served food, waited on the guests and chatted to them. A free raffle also took place.
Entertainment was provided after the meal by Mount Carmel’s choir led by music teacher Miss Javaid. They sang a selection of songs to a delighted audience which included beautiful, powerful solos and duets. The afternoon also included a Christmas sing-a-long which was enjoyed by all who attended.
Deputy Headteacher Miss Farrelly thanked everyone for attending the community party and explained to the guests that this was one of the highlights of the school Christmas events. All guests left with a small gift which had been purchased from donations made by pupils.
