Welcome Mass for Year 7 pupils

Mount Carmel held a Year 7 Welcome Mass just before the half term break.

Mass was celebrated by Fr. Francis and attended by Headteachers and Year 6 teachers from our partner primary schools. It was a wonderful atmosphere and a fitting way to celebrate a fantastic first half term at Mount Carmel. The liturgy of the word was led by members of the Chaplaincy Team and other pupils led in bidding prayers, including members of our Eco Group.

The choir, led by Miss Javaid sang beautifully and it was lovely to have our year 7 pupils joining in so enthusiastically. An annual highlight of the Welcome Mass is the procession of candles, where pupils and primary school colleagues 'pass on the light' and mark the transition from primary school to high school.

The celebration of Holy Mass is where we meet with Christ and it is the most fitting way to celebrate as a Catholic family of faith and learning.
