Mount Carmel Year 7 pupils had a day off their usual Wednesday timetable to participate in their Welcome Day.

The aim of the day is for all pupils to consider how as Catholics we can show others that Jesus' love never fails and neither should ours.

The pupils worked in their form groups to learn about the themes of Catholic social teaching and link them to their daily lives and consider the role they play in our Catholic school community.

Activities included Care for the Common Home, Family & Community, the poor, Dignity of the Human, Rights & Responsibilities and Solidarity & the Common Good

The day ended with a liturgy in the school hall with pupils participating in readings, bidding prayers and explanations of the work they had done during the day.

The day was organised by Miss Rushton and Mr Khan, Curriculum Leader and Assistant Curriculum Leader for Religious Education at Mount Carmel. The sessions were led by Mount Carmel teachers, SENCo and pastoral leaders.
