Mount Carmel pupils have been part of a forum called ‘CHARM’ consisting of young people from across schools in Hyndburn. They have been involved in organising a talent and achievement award event to raise funds for 2 local charities, Ynot and Young Carers.
The event at Oswaldtwistle Civic Theatre which will be attended by invited guests and dignitaries will feature award presentations for the categories of Young Voice, Sporting Individual, Inspiration, Young Carer and will feature a special award for Young Person of the Year.
Prior to the event each school hosted their own talent shows with the winners representating their school in the grand final during the evening. Representing Mount Carmel at the event will be Year 11 pupil Kian Sargeson who fought off tough competition from another 8 pupils in the school heat final. He will be singing ‘From Now On’ from The Greatest Showman and will be joined by backing singers from our school choir and drummers.
Judges will decide on the evening which of the 5 acts will be the overall winner.
Well done to the other fantastic Mount Carmel heat participants. Performing Arts teachers Miss Bell and Miss Javaid commented on how high the standard of the acts were and that they were all worthy of being in the final. “We are looking forward to the event at the Civic and we are sure Kian will be amazing and do Mount
Carmel proud.”
